The Wildways series of fundraising events connects people and places, offers education and unique experiences and is a fun way to contribute to the preservation of significant lands in far northern California.

Hosted by volunteers, all proceeds from ticket sales support Shasta Land Trust’s mission to conserve local land.

These events feature a wide variety of hiking, bike riding, and kayaking adventures, along with some other unique experiences tossed in. Come enjoy exclusive access on many of our protected properties, including some newly projected local gems, as well as expanses of open space, and other secret spots, all while supporting local land conservation!

Since 2003, volunteers have hosted Shasta Land Trust supporters at over 395 events! The success of the Wildways program has helped us permanently protect 39 properties spanning over 59,000 acres of working agricultural lands, water and wildlife habitat, recreation, and scenic beauty in our community.

The Wildways program would not be possible without our generous landowners, volunteers, hosts, sponsors, and the many supporters who attend. We hope to see you at one or more of these exciting events!

Don’t forget to mark your calendars! After purchasing tickets, you’ll be contacted by Shasta Land Trust in the days prior to your chosen event with details. We are continuously monitoring current conditions based on COVID-19. More specific details/requirements will be provided via email prior to events.

Join us for a plant walk and ecosystem tour at the Valleys End Nature Preserve with a hike along oak woodlands, lakeside shores, and unique geological formations on this SLT protected property. View the beautiful spring blooms and learn about the interconnectedness of the numerous habitats in the region. Hear from the passionate landowners who for decades have stewarded the land with special care for the many migratory and native species in the Bella Vista area. Relax after the hike with lunch at a scenic picnic site by Mirror Lake.
